The Scholar Series Hard Mallet has been designed using a chamois cover to provide the greatest articulation without the brittle sound often produced by wooden mallets.
Chamois mallets can be used for fast rhythmic passages, bombastic sounding solos, and Classical period repertoire such as Beethoven and Mozart.
Hills Mallets was founded by Adelaide Symphony Orchestra Principal Timpanist Andrew Penrose in 2021 with a dedication to creating Australian made timpani mallets for the musicians of Australia.
All mallets are made personally by Andrew at his home workshop in the Adelaide Hills.
